It may not generally be seen as the best game in the universe of gambling, but keno has huge amounts of keen fans. And why not? It’s a constantly exciting lottery-esque game that’s easy to learn, abundantly available in several assorted formats, and one that may return millions of dollars for those who learn its innumerable subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the basic facts for now.

When describing keno to amateurs, some gambling connoisseurs compare it to bingo. This is at least partly apt, in that each game is fundamentally numerical. But to carry that comparison too far would be to misunderstand the good many unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the ability to choose the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the gambler is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as numerous (or as few) numbers as he desires. And it doesn’t take a super genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your desired numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you had when you were a kid.

After you’ve picked your numbers, take the game card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The girl will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning slip on you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your time spent.

So, there you have strategy numero uno: always be sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s get on to something a little bit more complex, yes?

After you’ve picked your numbers, get into a comfy keno booth and see the action happen on the monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown in lights. If you picked winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You must get back to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, and then a new keno game will almost certainly begin within a few minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make it back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you can not trust yourself to meet that 5 minute deadline every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty cards. When the max amount of rounds (matching the number of tickets) is played out, you can then get off your lazy rump and go collect your winnings.

Yet another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number selection for 30 rounds or more. Golly, you can take vacation to France and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!

And now you have learned a number of required strategies for winning keno. If you are an accomplished keno player, they may seem to be stupidly obvious. But it will never hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a beginner keno player, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno playing more captivating.
