Keno was first played in two hundred BC by the Chinese military commander, Cheung Leung who used keno as a financial resource for his failing army. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a battle, and after a bit of time appeared to be facing country wide famine with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to develop a quick fix for the economic disaster and to create money for his forces. He thusly invented the game we now know as keno and it was a great success.

Keno was known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were broadcast by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the smaller villages. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 19th century by Chinese immigrants who came to the United States for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.

Today, Keno is most often gambled on with eighty numbers in almost all of the US brick and mortar casinos as well as web casinos. Keno is mainly loved today because of the laid back nature of playing the game and the simple fact that there are little skills needed to play Keno. Despite the fact that the chances of succeeding are appalling, there is constantly the possibility that you will win quite big with little gambling investment.

Keno is played with 80 numbers and 20 numbers are picked each game. Gamblers of Keno can choose from two to 10 numbers and gamble on them, as much or as little as they want to. The pay out of Keno is dependent on the wagers made and the matching of numbers.

Keno grew in acceptance in the US near the end of the 1800’s when the Chinese letters were replaced with , US numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the legalization of gambling in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos altered the name of the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the concept that the numbers are horses and you want your horses to come in. When a law passed that levied a tax on off track wagering, casinos swiftly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
