Keno Tactics That Work

It will not usually be deemed the sexiest game in the world of gambling, but keno has millions of fanatical enthusiasts. And so it should! It’s a regularly entertaining lottery-like game that’s easy to play, readily available in a number of assorted variations, and one that will pay out mega-dollars for people who master its innumerable subtle rules. But let’s deal with the basic facts for now.

When describing keno to newbies, some wagering pros compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain degree correct, in that both games are fundamentally numerical. However, to take that comparison too far would be to underrate the great many unique characteristics that make keno so exciting. Unlike bingo, keno players have the ability to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he feels they need. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your picked numbers with a good oldmarker like you used when you were in school.

After you’ve checked your numbers, take your game card back to the girl at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t lose this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will collect precisely $.00 for your winning card.

OK, so there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s move to something a little bit more useful, shall we?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and observe the action unfold on the video monitor. That is where the winning numbers are displayed for us. If you have winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get back to the keno booth to get your winnings, and then a new round of keno will probably begin within not too many minutes.

Strategy number two: always get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you do not trust yourself to meet that five-minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the max amount of rounds (fitting the number of tickets) is played, you can then get off your numb bum and go collect your winnings.

Another opportunity is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally allows you make number picks for 30 games or more. Hell, you can take all the time in the world and not have to worry about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

And now you know a couple of necessary strategies for winning keno. If you are an accomplished gambler, they may appear to be quite obvious. But it doesn’t hurt to brush up on the fundamentals, and if you are a beginner user, every little bit of advice will help make your keno games more captivating.
