It might not often be deemed the most fun game in the universe of wagering, but keno has millions of passionate admirers. And so it should! It’s a always exciting lottery-like game that’s simple to learn, readily available in a number of assorted variations, and one that might return millions for players who master its uncounted subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the basic rules for now.

When defining keno to novices, some betting experts compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain extent apt, in that both games are fundamentally numerical. However, to take that comparison too far will be to underestimate the endless unique characteristics that make keno so fun. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the ability to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the player is furnished with an increased level of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she wants. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your handpicked numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you used when you were a kid.

Once you’ve checked your numbers, take the keno card back to the girl at the keno booth. The clerk will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your pretty face and wants help out, without a winning receipt on you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your winning card.

Now there you have strategy numero uno: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let’s go on to something a little more useful, ok?

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and watch the action take place on the big keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers appear for all to see. If you picked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Make sure not to take too much time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, as a new drawing will likely begin within not too many minutes.

Strategy #2: always get back to the keno booth on time!

Since you do not trust yourself to beat that 5 minute margin each time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum number of games (the same as the amount of tickets) is completed, you should then get off your numb bum and go get your winnings.

Another alternative is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which usually lets you make number selection for 30 rounds or more. Gosh, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

So now you are aware of a couple necessary schemes for winning keno. If you are a discerning keno player, they might appear to be stupidly obvious. But it won’t hurt to study up on the basic tactics, and if you are a novice gambler, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno betting more entertaining.
